It was a great team effort. The girls played with a calm confidence, joy, and authority that I’m really proud of. We saw them begin to elevate their game and use opportunities to create points rather than simply keep the ball alive. They trusted the teammate next to them and, throughout the match, several girls played beyond what they believed they were capable of.

A few individual highlights:

* #12 Phoenix Jones — 2 blocks in the third set

* #4 Rayne Hill — strong serving performance

* #7 Abby Tower — strong serving performance

* #11 Amy Padron — strong serving performance

More than the individual stats, I was proud of how connected the girls were and how they responded together throughout the match.

Additional/upcoming this week:

Junior high volleyball began quick and have their first game of the season at home against Jonesboro. Then Tuesday, varsity takes on memorial Christian academy, followed by lometa’s “Hive Classic” home tournament this Thursday- Saturday.
